Any idea why I can’t send or receive text messages with my new Alltel cell phone?
I just bought a new Alltel prepaid cell phone yesterday. I’m also paying $5 for 300 text messages a month. I have perfect reception, and I can make calls fine. However, when I try to send a text message, I get “service not available.” Is there a waiting period before new users can send text messages?
Call your service provider to make sure you’ve subscribed to texting service and that your phone has text capability.
